Corel Ships Corel WordPerfect 7 for UNIX

Corel Corporation and its subsidiaries recently began shipping Corel(R) WordPerfect(R) for UNIX, an easy-to-use word processing software package for the UNIX platform that also offers advanced drawing and charting capabilities. Comprehensive text editing, spreadsheet functionality and direct import of database information give users the power necessary to communicate clearly and effectively. Corel WordPerfect for UNIX is available for both Character Terminals and X Window systems and is currently available in English only, with localization plans to be determined at a later date.

Corel WordPerfect Suite 7 for UNIX is fully file compatible with its DOS and Windows(R) counterparts and supports a variety of UNIX operating systems, including:

Pricing and System Requirements

Corel WordPerfect 7 for the X Window System requires 9 MB of memory for the first user, 2.5 MB memory for each additional user, and 43-104 MB hard disk space, depending on platform and install options. Corel WordPerfect 7 for Character Terminals requires 2 MB memory for the first user, 1.5 MB of memory for each additional user, and 31-40 MB of hard disk space, depending on platform and install options.

Corel WordPerfect 7 for UNIX is available for a suggested list price of $495 US, with upgrades available for a suggested list price or $249 US.
