LANG: Fact vs. Fiction about OI

None of us will *need* to license OI in *any* way to proceed with VRML 1.0
development work. We may, if we choose, use the ASCII syntax of the Inventor
file format, and, at the moment, nothing more. The folks at SGI will be
providing the source code to a VRML parser, because they understand how to do
it rather well.

This talk about licensing is unneecessary; that *would* be something to get
upset about - a public standard based upon a commercial product. It has been
my intention to demonstrate that this proposal has *no* commercial strings
attached, from SGI or anyone else, and does *not* rely, in any way, on having
OI running on many platforms which it does not yet run upon.

Are there any questions about this which I can make clearer?
