So would I, but I would want it to be inside of a TD, not stuck in a table
row before the first cell, as it is in the example above. I think what you're
saying is you want to be able to do this:
<TABLE>
<TR>
<TD>foo
<INPUT type=radio name=joe value=blow>
<TD>bar
</TABLE>
