BSDi Expands Management Team with New Executives

Mark Garver And Other Top-Flight Technology Professionals Bring Internet and Business Expertise to BSDi

Colorado Springs, Colo., June 12, 2000 - Berkeley Software Design, Inc. (BSDi), the recognized leader in Internet infrastructure-grade systems, today announced five new appointments to its executive team.

The BSDi management team now includes:

• Mark Garver, Group Executive, Marketing and Internet Systems Solutions
• Harry Bing-You, Vice President, Business Development and Customer Care
• Mark Calkins, Vice President of Sales, Commercial Systems Group
• Jerry Morgan, Vice President of Product Management
• Stefan Sjostrom,Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

All five bring extensive technical and business expertise to BSDi, offering strategic leadership to product development, marketing, sales, product management and worldwide operations.

Mark Garver brings to BSDi more than 15 years of experience as a senior business and technology executive with companies including NetOps, Dell Computers, Lucent/Ascend/NetStar, Tricord, Unisys/Convergent Technology and Motorola. Mark will oversee BSDi's marketing activities and lead its new Internet Systems Solutions Business Unit.

Harry Bing-You brings more than 25 years of experience in high technology sales, sales management and business development with companies including On.Radio, Phoenix Technologies, Netcarta, Pyramid Technology, Convergent Technology and Prime Computer. Harry will oversee BSDi's strategic relationships and customer care programs.

Mark Calkins has over 15 years of experience in managing and developing sales organizations with companies including SCO, Frame Technology, Stallion Technologies and Intarka. Mark will be responsible for end-user and channel sales efforts.

Jerry Morgan brings over 20 years of experience in business development, product planning and product management with companies including NBI, SCO, AT&T Labs and Avesta Technologies. Jerry will be responsible for developing BSDi's product plans, coordinating product lines, and identifying and developing target markets.

Stefan Sjostrom has over 20 years of experience in software and hardware sales and marketing in Europe with companies including Memorex Corporation, SCO, Total Recall (UK) Ltd., NetERP and Infomatec AG. Stefan is charged with developing a significant European market presence, including establishing a UK-based European headquarters.
