Renamed as Inforum Communications, Inc, Company Introduces Series of Targeted Investments and Strategic Partnerships Focused on Opportunities in the Internet Infrastructure Space
SkyLynx Communications Assets Renamed Inforum Networks
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 2000--True success in the new economy requires a vision for emerging technologies and the ability to connect those technologies with a viable and growing customer base.
It is with that in mind that SkyLynx Communications, Inc. (OTCBB:SKYK) today unveiled the company's dynamic new business model focusing on dramatically enhancing its product and service offerings by making targeted investments and establishing key partnerships with selected businesses in the Internet infrastructure space. Effective May 1, 2000 SkyLynx Communications, Inc. will be renamed Inforum Communications, Inc. to reflect its mission to emerge as a leader in critical facets of this dynamic marketplace. The Company expects a new trading symbol and CUSIP to be assigned shortly. E-mail addresses and the permanent corporate website ( www.inforum.com ) will be operational on May 1, 2000.
Unlike the "roll-ups" of the 1990's, Inforum Communications is implementing a business strategy that employs tactical diversification within a focused industry - Internet infrastructure. By leveraging its existing installed Internet access and hosting customer base of nearly 42,000 subscribers, Inforum Communications will drive revenue, resources and customers to each of its newly formed subsidiaries and partnerships. In addition to Inforum Networks, Inc., (encompassing the property formally known as SkyLynx Communications), Inforum Communication's portfolio companies and strategic partners currently include 2Cactus, LogicTree Corporation and PDGT.com.

-- PDGT ( www.pdgt.com ) is a data-focused, competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC or D-LEC) providing high-end data and voice communications products and services. More than just an investor
"This marks a fundamental advance in the Company's vision," said Jeffery Mathias, CEO of Inforum Communications. "Unlike investment firms who merely inject capital into portfolio companies, we bring the added benefit of delivering to our portfolio companies and strategic partners access to a solid and growing customer base resulting in a nearly instant revenue stream."
"As the old and new economies merge, investors not only demand innovation, they demand bottom line results. Inforum plans to deliver on those expectations. The Company is employing what we are calling a `Matrix Methodology' that leverages our roots and experience as a Super Regional ISP to help our subsidiaries and partners deliver critical solutions for real-world technology problems," continued Mathias.
"Our new business is about `best Internet methods' and rapid response to a dynamic and demanding marketplace. Any company in the Internet infrastructure space is destined for failure if it becomes content with a static business plan. Complacency is not a goal of Inforum Communications," said Jim Maurer, CFO of Inforum.
Vision based in reality
Inforum has chosen to advance into this new space due to the needs it discovered as a successful ISP. "It should be noted that the most accurate gauge for identifying real world Internet infrastructure issues and needs are the ISPs," explained Mathias, "Our experience in the ISP industry allowed us to gain valuable insight into the needs of our customers and other service providers."
Upcoming announcements
Over the course of the next several months, Inforum expects to announce key developments and growth initiatives for each of its operating subsidiaries. With an emphasis on fundamental growth and industry differentiation, Inforum is poised to capitalize on several technological `firsts.' Additionally, management is methodically exploring complementary acquisition candidates, key industry alliances and strategic investment considerations.
